Electrical Design Engineer - Control Panels

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Electrical Design Engineer – Control Panels on a 6-month ongoing contract based in Southampton – Hybrid (2-3 days in the office)

Our client is looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer – Control Panels, with experience in control panel design to join their Process & Water division. Our client is well known for delivering complex turnkey engineering projects in sectors such as Process & Water, Energy, Defence, Oil & Gas and Nuclear.

Responsibilities of the Electrical Design Engineer – Control Panels:

• Pre-Contract Site Surveys
• Equipment Selection and Purchasing
• Design of Control Panel Schematic Diagrams and General Arrangements from User Requirement Specifications and Control Philosophies
• Production of documentation packages for our workshop operatives
• Production of Operation and Maintenance Manuals
• Onsite Fault Finding and Modification of Electrical Control Systems
• Creation of Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Site Progress Reports and other paperwork

Requirements of The Electrical Design Engineer – Control Panels:

• A background of working as an Electrical Controls Design Engineer
• Good understanding of BSEN 61439 LV Directive
• Able to work alone or as part of a team
• Experienced Autocad user (ability to use Promise would be advantageous but not essential as training can be given)
• Client facing with excellent interpersonal skills
• Hard working and self-motivated
• Either relevant engineering qualification or by experience
